Your path to new windows and doors starts on our showroom floor; once you’ve selected the product that is right for you, the next step is the installation process. When you choose Renaissance Windows and Doors for your home project, you are choosing excellence, including a professional installation by a master installer on our staff. We don’t use contract labor for installation, which means that you benefit from experience when our installers are on the job.
Self-installation vs. professional installation
It can be tempting to try and save a few dollars by doing the installation yourself, but we know that in the long run self-installation can cost you more money. Professional installers can anticipate problems as well as quickly adjust to problems that are encountered during the installation process.
Why does it matter that your installers are employees, rather than contract laborers?
It may not seem like a big distinction, but employing rather than contracting out our installers makes a big difference to you, our clients. Our installers are Renaissance Windows and Doors employees which means they are fully insured with workman’s compensation and liability coverage. Full insurance coverage for our employees means full coverage for your home renovation job.
Background checks are another major benefit; our installers are employees who have been thoroughly vetted, so you can feel safe and secure while they work inside your home.
Finally, product knowledge makes using employee installation experts preferable to using contract labor. Our installers know and understand the products that we carry. Did you know that products often carry installation guidelines, and that some warranties are voided when the installer does not follow the proper procedure during the installation process? A great warranty is useless if it becomes void due to an incorrect installation.
Installer Certifications: What are they, and what do they mean?
All installers employed with us are AAMA certified master installers, and Renovator certified for handling lead paint. Federal law requires EPA lead certification for window installer, which ensures lead-safe practices are followed in your home during installation. Learn more about the EPA rules governing lead safety in home construction and renovation on the EPA website.
AAMA certification is conferred by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association and, as mentioned above, all of our master installers have this certification. This means installers have taken certification classes that teach the best practices for window installation, and that they understand the industry “best practices” for window and door installation.
